What we do
Datadog is a unified data platform for dev and ops teams and offers a brand new way to manage applications and infrastructure in the cloud age. Our unique combination of data aggregation, visualization, and social interaction connects teams to all the tools and service providers they need to build and run reliable systems.

We are one of the most technical teams in NYC, and had success building products and startups before. Our product looks like no other in the market, our customers love us, we’re growing fast and we have just closed a big funding round from some the best VCs in NY and the world.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a senior DevOps engineer with proven experience in designing, automating and running a large-scale, real-time, data-heavy infrastructure on AWS. Our platform ingests and analyzes hundreds of billions of records every single day, around the clock, in real time.
You will be responsible for the availability and the performance of our customer-facing services. At the same time, and this is pretty unique, since we built Datadog for engineers like you, you will have a direct voice in the making of our product.
Who you must be
You have a BS, MS or PhD in CS or equivalent
You have 10 years of experience in an operational position
You derive a deep satisfaction of making all the moving parts run in concert while keeping an eye on the big picture: the uninterrupted delivery of our monitoring service to our customers.
Your GitHub repositories prove your proficiency in high-level languages (ruby, python, clojure, etc.)
You can tune the Linux network stack, set up a BGP router, tweak OOM scores and are in general very comfortable with system-level engineering
You have deep experience with the tools we use: AWS services, linux, chef, puppet, nagios, statsd, cassandra, hadoop, redis, kafka, postgres
You want an opportunity to make it big by being a true startup athlete
