Job Description
The Mongo DBA role is responsible for managing/maintaining Sailthru’s MongoDB servers, oversight on architecture, and production deployments within the database. To put it simply, you’ll be in charge of taming the beast. This is a crucial role for Sailthru, and requires someone who will uphold high standards of availability and quality of data services. In addition, Sailthru's Mongo DBA will also:
Strategically plan future design plans and system capabilities.
Love, honor, and cherish Mongo (while keeping it on a tight leash).
Verify and validate schemas and queries.
Monitor deployments for capacity, performance, and/or troubleshooting issues.
You’ll know this is the role for you if you have a passion for databases, used MMS or your own monitoring system, thoughtful architectural mindset, and a dedicated work ethic. And because you’re an overachiever, you also have:
5+ years as a DBA.
Experience in shell scripting.
At least 1 year experience with production MongoDB replica sets.
Knowledge of Mongo 2.0+
Linux experience(CentOS, RHEL)
Ideally some experience and/or knowledge of Hadoop, PHP/Java and or C/C++ |
