Are you looking to put your engineering skills to use building beautiful apps for the Android universe? Thumb Labs is a boutique mobile agency making a name for itself building top class Mobile and Tablet applications for our clients. Come join an intimate team of designers and developers that are pushing the boundaries of the most exciting technology platform of the last 10 years. The company is driven primarily by client work, so you'll have an opportunity to work on a wide range of products, but also maintains a keen interest in leveraging our skills to add to a growing library of our own consumer applications.
The requirements for this position include experience building full-featured Android applications, excellent knowledge of the Android SDK, and a passion for mobile applications.
While having these skills is important, we are particularly interested in finding a candidate with the right mindset, and one who is a great personality fit. The ideal applicant is a self-starter that is ready to own projects in full, and has an interest and enthusiasm for dabbling with the full technology stack.
Skills & Requirements
- 2+ years experience in application development of native Android applications utilizing Java.
- Intimate knowledge of the Android SDK and Android best practices.
- Independent mindset, taking full ownership of responsibility for managing projects and delivering on time.
- Strong OO design and development experience.
- Experience consuming RESTful web services, and parsing JSON and/or XML.
- SCM utilizing Git and GitHub or equivalent.
