Job Description
Grasket, which launched a working prototype on August 2, 2012, is looking to hire an engineer in the New York area. The ideal candidate will quickly be promoted to the technical lead position with an equity stake after demonstrating a true passion for shaping the vision and direction of our service with the two co-founders.

Grasket is a universal shopping cart that will help solve cart abandonment for online retailers and make buying easier & cheaper for consumers. With 60% of online shopping carts abandoned, this space is ripe for disruption and Grasket is looking to become a leader in the ever changing and rapidly growing e-commerce arena.

Required Skills:
As a technical lead, you will be in charge of the full stack of web development – from coding the site's front and back end to managing its production servers. Creating a universal shopping cart involves a lot of challenges, including:
- making a bookmarklet that can grab the maximum relevant information from a given e-commerce page
- making a simple and beautiful interface for examining the cart's contents
- creating social functionality to allow carts to be shared and copied
- writing smooth interfaces to carry out purchases
- We want someone who has the experience - or at least the temperament - to work at an early stage startup. That means a lot of communication with non-tech folks/lots of changes/and superb organizational skills to manage and track those changes
-In return for these awesome skills, we will pay you a competitive hourly wage.
-An ideal candidate doesn't take themselves too seriously, has a sense of humor and can celebrate at the end of a successful or unsuccessful day.

Technical Requirements:
- Ruby (preferably 1.9.x) on Rails (preferably >=3.1). We are open to working with a talented individual who is just as passionate about making this company a success as we are, regardless of technical specialty.
- Strong JavaScript skills, especially with jQuery, and especially with developing modular JS code
- Experience deploying and managing a Rails production server, especially with Amazon EC2 and S3
- Experience with a source control tool, like git
- A portfolio that shows your skills.

Send us an email with your github and a couple of sentences of why you'd be a good fit to timfisher18@gmail.com and we will send you the username and password to check out the beta version of Grasket.

The two founders:

Since graduating from NYU business school in 2010, Tim has been doing equity research on oil and gas pipeline companies for UBS and JP Morgan. He still enjoys playing hockey, doing crossfit and spending time in the Adirondacks.
