Job Description
On Deck is seeking a Ruby Developer for the Web Team to build cutting-edge web applications from the ground up that will help millions of small businesses across the country gain access to capital they need to grow their business.
As part of the Web Team, you will:
Define and build innovative online user experiences that allow small businesses obtain loans quickly and easily either directly or through On Deck’s partners. Our goal is to offer the most intuitive functional an elegant interfaces in the industry built on top of solidly engineered service architecture using a variety of open source projects, popular and flexible web frameworks. We welcome out-of-the-box thinking, resourcefulness and desire to innovate directed toward helping the company become an absolute leader in online loans to small businesses.
About You:
You have 2+ years using Ruby and Rails
You have 2-5+ years of experience working on web-based projects, with exposure to the full stack
When you encounter a new problem, you can figure out a way to make it work
You can clearly explain technical concepts and make decisions with non-technical team members
You’re comfortable with Javascript JQuery, Web Services and MVC frameworks
Ideally, you’ve created a public GitHub project, posted answers on Stack Overflow, modified open-source code, or created some hacks that you’re proud of
You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
