We are seeking a full-time Lead Web Software Engineer in New York City to help us build and launch a NEW social travel web application. We are a startup, owned and funded by World Travel Holdings - a major travel distributor of cruises, villas, hotels and vacations.

Responsibilities:
Code key functionality of the application including an API for partner websites
Make all technical architecture / framework decisions to ensure application scalability and reliability
Write clean and well documented code
Lead and mentor junior engineers
Work closely with a technical product manager and designer
Desired Skills & Experience
What we are looking for:
The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience developing large scale, consumer-facing web applications, on a PHP-based MVC Framework, demonstrate an excellent understanding of object-oriented programming and have strong knowledge of MySQL
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical discipline
Knowledge of Javascript, Ajax, jQuery, HTML/CSS a plus
Comfortable going from whiteboard to prototype to production in days
Passion for applying programming solutions to solve complex problems
Creative, collaborative and fun to work with
