Phone.com is a 21st century cloud-based phone service provider that empowers developers to build many voice and SMS applications which leverage Phone.com’s Hosted PBX offering or as stand-alone applications.

Phone.com is headquartered in New Jersey with offices in San Diego and New York City.
Responsibilities:
As a technology evangelist, your key role will be to build critical mass support, excitement, and engagement amongst developers for Phone.com’s API, and to establish it as a technical standard for cloud-based communications. As such, your responsibilities will be to:
Inspire, foster, and equip developers in the Phone.com community to build awesome applications.
Connect with developers at hackathons, meetups, conferences, and other technology events around the US.
Write blog posts, sample code, screencasts and how-to’s; tweet and Facebook regularly. These, amongst other social tools, will be part of the toolkit you will use to build developer engagement around Phone.com’s API and cloud services.
Engage and support developers within the API Developer Community, via email, social networks and in person when technical questions arise.
Help developers envision, build, and launch their applications using Phone.com’s API.
Gather and socialize customer feedback to assist Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales teams in identifying customer needs and to refine our products and policies to meet those needs.
Requirements:
At least 2 years of post- college programming experience
You've built applications using web APIs and are familiar with the most current web development technologies including REST, JSON, PHP, XML, etc.
You’re a natural born hacker with business acumen and social abilities combined.
You have strong networking and follow-up skills.
You enjoy helping developers build cool applications.
You are outgoing and social – a nerd/geek who is passionate about learning new technologies and telling others about your geek exploits.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. You will blog about technical issues, new features, newsworthy applications, and engage developers in their respective communities such as Twitter, IRC, GitHub, and others.
Proven ability in building a community around something you were passionate about.
Ability to travel independently, stay connected and boost productivity.
Comfortable working technical events and hackathons even if they happen to be over weekends or evenings.
Bonus Points:
Already an active participant in NYC area meetups and technology events.
Prior employment as a web developer, technical evangelist, and/or technical product manager.
Exposure to a wide variety of programming languages, including Python, Ruby, Java.
Love to work in an entrepreneurial setting.
Strong technical public speaking and presentation skills.
Passion towards creative technical problem solving.
